The two companies will jointly develop a Satellite Communications-on-the-Move (SOTM) solution that enables vehicles to access reliable, broadband Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite connectivity.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The SOTM solution enables vehicles to connect to LEO satellite networks through translucent phased-array antennas, supporting real-time Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) control, Over-the-Air (OTA) software updates, High-Definition (HD) mapping, and in-vehicle digital services. Unlike traditional terrestrial networks, satellite connectivity extends coverage beyond ground infrastructure, providing more resilient and reliable connections across wide geographic areas.</p>

AUO’s translucent SatGlass Antenna enables satellite antennas to be virtually invisible by integrating them directly into the vehicle sunroof. Since the contract award in June 2025, the project has progressed steadily and has now entered the engineering verification phase.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The contract, officially titled &#8220;Pathfinder Communication Payload Baseband Module Prototype Development,&#8221; positions YTTEK at the forefront of the nation&#8217;s push for space communication autonomy. YTTEK will leverage its core expertise in Software-Defined Radio (SDR) technology to design, implement, and verify the fundamental components of the first domestically developed LEO satellite payload.</p>
<h2 style="text-align: left;"><strong>SDR at the core: Building the next-generation communications payload</strong></h2>
<p style="text-align: left;">TASA’s B5G satellite initiative includes two experimental LEO spacecraft. The first payload (1A) was contracted to U.S.-based CesiumAstro, while the 1B satellite—designed to showcase Taiwan’s indigenous aerospace capabilities—will be developed domestically.</p>

Universities now need to provide students with practical experience in high-frequency communications, millimeter wave (mmWave) system design, and AI-driven wireless technologies. In response to this trend, Professor Sheng Chou Lin from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Fu Jen Catholic University has built a hands-on learning environment using YTTEK’s PluSDR Software-Defined Radio (SDR) platform and FlexBeam mmWave Front-End Module (FEM). “YTTEK’s mmWave academic solution helps me carry out both my teaching and my research in wireless 5G and radar systems,” Prof. Lin said.</span></p>

<li><span style="color: #666666;"><strong><span style="color: #666666;">Students rarely have access to real mmWave systems,</span></strong> making it difficult to develop the practical skills needed for next-generation wireless engineering. </span></li>
<li><span style="color: #666666;"><strong><span style="color: #666666;">Modern research requires rapid prototyping,</span></strong> and without a flexible, programmable system, hands-on experimentation becomes slow and fragmented. </span></li>
