Highlights of EuCNC & 6G Summit 2024 

This year’s summit attracted over 50 global companies from the telecom industry, including leading Information and Communications Technology (ICT) firms and top measurement equipment manufacturers. The event served as a vibrant platform for exploring the future of communication technologies. 

 

The summit’s discussions spanned a wide range of topics, including the technical aspects of sensing in 6G and the applications of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). The development of WiFi 6 and the next-generation WiFi 7 were also a point of interest. These discussions are paving the way for clearer directions in next-generation communications. 

YTTEK’S Support in Next-Gen Communication Research: Enhancing Research efficiency 

At the EuCNC & 6G Summit, YTTEK proudly presented our Y.FORCE  high-performance software-defined radio platform. As a versatile RF transceiver testing instrument, Y.FORCE facilitates rapid signal generation using MATLAB example codes. These example codes enable researchers to swiftly generate and transmit various signals, making Y.FORCE ideal for both demonstrations and research in educational settings. 

Support CCSDS Protocol for Satcom Research 

Another exciting development is that Y.FORCE has expanded its capabilities by supporting the CCSDS protocol, thereby broadening its application scope to include satellite communication research in non-terrestrial networks. 

 

With a wide frequency support range from 10 MHz to 9 GHz, Y.FORCE covers frequency bands utilized by 5G sub-6, WiFi 6, WiFi 7, and Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. The platform’s ultra-high 400 MHz bandwidth provides researchers with unparalleled flexibility, accuracy, and comprehensiveness.

Exclusive Liquid Crystal Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface: Y.RIS 

In addition, YTTEK showcased the liquid crystal RIS system, Y.RIS, operating at 28 GHz. This system is crucial for enhancing high-frequency signal coverage. Controlled by Y.FORCE, Y.RIS can flexibly redirect high-frequency signal beams within a 120-degree range, reflecting signals into dead zones caused by obstacles.  

 

With a power consumption of less than 500 mW, Y.RIS offers an energy-efficient solution for extending high-frequency signal coverage. This system has played an important role in related educational and research activities.
