Targeting growing GSaaS market, YTTEK unveils HyperSDR modem to simplify satellite ground station deployment
Hsinchu, Taiwan – November 3, 2026 – As the global Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite industry expands, demand for Ground Station as a Service (GSaaS) and ground station infrastructure continues to grow. However, complex hardware integration remains a major deployment challenge. To address this, YTTEK, a leading provider in satellite communication technology, will showcase its all-in-one HyperSDR Satellite Ground Station Modem at TASTI 2026 from November 8 to 10 in Tainan, Taiwan. By eliminating external up/down converters, HyperSDR reduces hardware complexity and speeds up ground station deployment for GSaaS operators.

YTTEK’s all-in-one HyperSDR Satellite Ground Station Modem
All-in-one architecture streamlines ground station deployment
Ground Station as a Service (GSaaS) allows satellite operators to access existing global ground station networks without building their own infrastructure. However, traditional ground station architectures rely on external Low-Noise Block downconverters (LNBs) and additional downconverters to convert X- or Ku-band satellite signals to Intermediate Frequency (IF) before demodulation. For GSaaS providers and system integrators deploying new sites worldwide, these additional components consume valuable rack space, complicate system integration, and increase maintenance costs and the risk of equipment failure.
YTTEK leverages its advanced Software-Defined Radio (SDR) technology to integrate RF front-end and modem functions into its HyperSDR platform. Covering frequencies from 10 MHz to 15 GHz with native S-, X-, and Ku-band support, the all-in-one modem eliminates the need for external frequency-conversion equipment, simplifying ground station deployment.
“For GSaaS operators deploying new ground station sites worldwide, HyperSDR’s all-in-one architecture not only simplifies hardware deployment but also reduces system integration complexity,” said Jiangson Chen, CEO of YTTEK. “For satellite operators, space agencies, and government satellite programs seeking to build ground stations, it also effectively lowers construction and maintenance costs.”
Proven performance: Validated with TASA’s FORMOSAT-8A satellite
While many commercial SDR platforms are validated only with simulated signals in laboratory environments, HyperSDR has been successfully validated through multiple real-world satellite missions. Following its successful validation with the Taiwan Space Agency’s (TASA) FORMOSAT-5 satellite image data, HyperSDR once again successfully received and decoded X-band signals downlinked from FORMOSAT-8A (FS-8A, “Chi Po-lin”) in April 2026, helping TASA reconstruct satellite imagery in real time. The processed optical imagery achieved a resolution of 0.7 meters, demonstrating its capability in supporting high-throughput satellite missions.
One SDR core, three domains: Space, ground, and air
Beyond HyperSDR ground station modem, YTTEK will showcase its comprehensive communication portfolio spanning space, ground, and air at TASTI 2026. Highlights include satellite communication payloads, Antenna Control Units (ACUs) with millisecond-level tracking response, and defense-grade anti-jamming UAV communication solutions, underscoring YTTEK’s end-to-end expertise across spaceborne, ground, and unmanned systems.
